Dr Silvio Tarca
As a postdoc research associate at the University of Adelaide, I am undertaking research on the modelling and control of stochastic networks. In particular, my research examines a future electricity grid with a high penetration of power electronic converter connected devices, distributed and utility scale, including renewable energy generators, battery energy storage systems, electric vehicles and electrical loads.
I hold a Ph.D. in applied mathematics from the University of Sydney, an M.Sc. in mathematics from the Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences at New York University, an M.Sc. in finance from the Illinois Institute of Technology, and a B.Sc. in mechanical engineering from the University of Adelaide. Moreover, I have accumulated professional experience in diverse fields including scientific research (Los Alamos National Laboratory), finance (J.P. Morgan), information technology (Accenture), and mechanical engineering (Timken).
